By May 2020, the ‘initial’ curve had flattened. Please don’t take this sentence out of context… Of course, the curve rose again (throughout Europe) in the winter to reflect the seasonal pattern of respiratory illnesses.
I see the COVID-19 crisis in India as another way to sustain the fearmongering narrative. After all, summer is here in Europe, and cases and deaths are down (to reflect again seasonal patterns of respiratory illnesses). But… I could be wrong. I just find it difficult to assess when the NOS, BBC or RTÉ don’t put the situation in India – a country of 1.3 billion people with a shambolic healthcare system – into sufficient context.
